Data Availability
The data in the CLIMOD system go through a series of updates, replacing preliminary (raw) data with data that have undergone additional quality control.
- NCDC Final data from the National Climatic Data Center are the highest quality
data in the CLIMOD system. These values rarely change.
- NCDC Prelim data are the next highest level of quality. Some values may change
as the data are subjected to more rigorous quality control.
- The most recent and lowest quality data (Raw) are preliminary data received
electronically from the National Weather Service and other sources that have not been subjected to any quality control
procedures. These data are subject to change and should be used with caution.
